Security Camera Systems Targeted for Garden Squares
Rather than promoting very expensive, professional grade Camera Systems that would usually be found in commercial environments, we recognise that the security requirements of a Garden are lower, and therefore we provide low-cost solutions that are proportional to the need.
Our solutions are nevertheless extremely effective, adding an additional layer of access control, whilst helping identify undesirable behaviours from trespss and flytipping to blatant disregard to a Garden’s Rules.
Flexibility and Affordability is Key
Unbeknownst to most Security Camera contractors, the installation of cameras in gardens is actually covered by Tree Protection regulations, BS5837, specifically that no camera’s positioning should mandate the subsequent pruning of surrounding trees, rendering many static installations non-compliant.
Our most-deployed solution is to use strap mounts to attach cameras to trees. Not only are these mounts safe for the tree (as opposed to screwing into trunk, which is frowned upon), they can also be moved and adjusted easily as the natural environment changes over time.
We keep the cost per camera down (sub £500, with no subscription cost) recognising that they might not be required (or supported) forever, and excessive investment would be disproportionate.
Retrofitting to Existing Infrastructure
Where Gardens have existing infrastructure, from dummy cameras to existing network cables, we can price to install solutions that make best use of that existing infrastructure.
A recent Client in Earls Court had Dummy Cameras mounted to posts by each of the Garden’s 3 gates. We replaced each dummy camera with new motion-detection cameras.
Two of the Gates were more than 150 meters away from the nearest Power / WiFi point, so in these locations we deployed 4G LTE Cameras that connect to the internet independently through their own onboard SIM Card. Trailing wires were run to “Charging Boxes” mounted lower down the post, where 27,000mAh powerbanks could be interchanged to keep the cameras charged.

When installing new systems, we provide clients GDPR Compliant Signagage, along with boilerplate Data Controller and Data Processor Policies to govern the continued use of the system inline with ICO expectations.
